I tried to get a really cold feel using Vallejo and citadel greys and very light blues. It was hard to get the white colours to look right so it took a lot of wet blending and layering to get the right effect. I tried to get a clouded look in the crystal ball. The hand was blended from a flesh tone to light blue to make it look like he is casting a cold spell. The base is carved out of green stuff.

I tried to get a really rugged outdoor look to this miniature. I used mostly Citadel browns as I feel they are the best to use. Most of the browns are wet blended with yellows or reds for their highlight. I particularly like his little potion bottle on his left hand side, which I tried to make look like red wine. I painted his sleeves a dark blue to add contrast of colour to bring the browns out more. I feel his face has a good tanned rugged look.

For the brown I used Warhammers snakebite leather blended with their bubonic brown for the highlight. I like this miniatures face. I feel that I got a good dirty dark skin look. I added a thin dark blue line to the cream loin cloth to bring it out more because without it I got a real feel the a something was missing every time I looked at the miniature.

Green in the cape was blended with a yellow, as was the brown on the inside. I tried to get a red leather armour affect on his body armour. I also tried to get a weathered tanned look to his face to make him look well travelled.

I tried for a dark steel trimmed with dark bronze for the armour. I shaded the matalics using a mixture of Vallejo and Games Workshop Matalics. For the face I went for a dead rotting flesh tone by adding some green to the skin blend. I felt painting his hair White emphasized this effect. I got a nice dark effect on the reds by starting with Citadels dark flesh and blending Vallejo blood red into it for his cloak.

For some reason unknown to me this mini took three times longer to paint than I expected it to. In the end I was pleased with the shaded mettalics and the dark blue. The base was sculpted out of green stuff.

All the metallics are shaded using a mixture of Vallejo and Citadel paints. The picture does not bring it out to well but the red of his cloak and the red of his robe are two completely different reds. It was taking along time to paint all the writing on the scroll so I did a little freehand rose in keeping with his theme to take up some space.

I tried for a rugged look in his face, also a weathered leather look for his jacket. On the map there is an island with two beaches a mountain and a trail leading to a red X.
